One of the most enjoyable aspect of my job is the occasional mystery shop. After a second stint at Shoreham's Tesco this morning i ventured via the train (which being Southern's latest trains are temperature controlled and so cool and comfy) to London. Killing two birds with one stone ,metaphorically speaking, i did two mystery shops for M&B pubs and visited Selctadisc other places as well.

It was very humid and hot in London - i thought to myself I MUST BE MAD!

Fist stop was at The Green Man in Berwick Street. Sold some CD's at Selctadisc which is also in the same street beforehand. Had a white wine there and filled in the report afterwards. All expenses plus cost of the wine paid for by THS (Taylor Nleson Sofres to you).

The football was on, Czech republic vs USA,and there was some tasty young Czech ladies in the seats next to me in their red football t-shirts watching the game.

Left there after finishing my wine and walked down to Carnaby Street, and rather than go by bus, decided to use the tube to Notting Hill from Oxford Circus. I WISH I HADN'T!

It was even hotter on the tube than the bus and i was sweltering. My black T-shirt sticking to the back of my torso. I was glad to emerge in the daylight at Notiing Hill and was somewhat cooler by then (6.10 pm).

Fist stop was to visit Notting Hill Record Xchange as i still had £8 of vouchers to spend. Found some items i remembered had good reviews in WIRE magazine, "A Summer She Has Nver Been,A Winter She Fears" by theodore (Lo Recordings 2004) and the other (reviewed by the lovely Mia Clarke of Electrolane) "Glissandro 70" by Glissandro 70 (Constellation 2005). The two came to exactly £8. Cheap as chips!!

Then turned right from there towards the Ossington Street pub called The Leinster. Nice pub indeed, and unbeknown to me, two nice men behind the bar. IT WAS A GAY PUB!!!

It was the campest M&B pub i have been to yet. I selected an Amstel bier and sat with my back next to the wall watching out for any wandering hands. Actually would not have minded either way as i am a bit bisexual anyway.A quick grope you know is good!! They even had a free magazine called BOYZ,with middle pages that doesn't leave much to the imagination.I will go again.

Scooted out of there about 6.45pm and wrote my report. It was time to go home.

I still needed to transfer the report via the net when i got home.

Still a good days work (£60 for the Tesco and £21 for the mystery shops) and thus a nice cool shower when i got home.
