Another warm day and may it continue. A day I travelled back to the sleepy village that has become my Kentish home.
Tim regaled me with the happenings of the last few days and that another mate has passed away. He said to me that anytime I go away one his mates passes away I gave a perfunctory nod to him. It was just coincidence, nothing spooky involved, and as Tim does have or did have many friends, it is beginning to be just a numbers game.
At times he can be a reactionary person with politics diametrically opposed to mine but we do agree on one thing – hatred of the Manchester United football team, their manager and that Rooney thug.Very pleased to see City beat them on the Saturday just gone. FA Cup final will be between Man. City and Stoke City. It will be an intriguing match.
Finally completed “The Spy Who Came In From The Cold” by John LeCarre . Another book arrived from Amazon, picked up for a penny, Virginia Woolf “Orlando” (Oxford Classics) , plus usual postage rates. I saw the film of the book some time ago featuring the svelte Tilda Swinton as a free DVD with one of the upmarket newspapers, either the Guardian of Independent. Produced by Sally Potter, it was a beautiful film that followed the book quite closely.
Evening, Tim and I had his stonkingily hot rich chill con carne Spicy and good.
My journey made me sleepy and drained so i went to bed early.
