In A Mood

I had an adamantine will not to fazed by the mood swings of a cousin struggling on with the detox programme and feeling quite shitty with it. The case of being stuck indoors and nothing to do, or go anywhere, is cumulative to his disposition. I may have to take him out to Canterbury for a day soon.

The glaucous overcast precipitous sky yesterday morning made the “buddying” session down the library the most quiescent. I was on the net surfing and updating my Discogs site, deleting all sold and draft items from the inventory.

Last night watched the next episode of TORCHWOOD and it is still holds the attention. Gripping stuff from the team that brought us the updated Dr.Who TV series I did spit vehemently at my cousin when a part of the drama had Eve Myles, as Gwen, facing the barrel of a gun and about to be blown away. He was willing it on! Bastard ! He hates the show as much as I hate all the bloody sport and cooking programmes he watches.

Today I zipped over to Faversham and bought some pipe shag, and some books from charity shops to sell online. Plus had a few pints of beer in the Leading Light pub.

A much sunnier day too.

For those wanting to know more about the recent DDoS attacks, yes, it looks like it was the Russian government trying to shut down the dissidents again.

As I said last time, while it's frustrating not to have access, LJ is a lot more than a social network platform. From the article:

"LiveJournal isn’t just a social network. It’s also a platform for organizing civic action. Dozens of network projects and groups mobilize people to solve specific problems — from defending the rights of political prisoners to saving endangered historic architecture in Moscow."

So while I know many are considering the move over to Dreamwidth and other such sites, supporting LJ is a way we can help support those who use it for more than a writing/roleplaying/social venue.

Also, as a FYI, LJ is giving paid users effected by the outage two weeks of paid time as compensation.
