An uneventful day on the whole. Weather was mordantly prevaricating with its on-off rain and sunshine switching. Anyway, circumstances deemed it was a day for chores. Hence, i did some vacuuming, sorted out some books, added items to the EBay sale page, had a nice soaking bath, washed my hair, clipped toenails, pampered myself with some skin moisturizer cream, had a brunch, some cups of coffee, and watched an episode of Charmed.

I was going to do some visits, but i shall make it a loner day tomorrow for these visits. I am determined to leave early before eight as i have Deal to do first.

Having just watched University Challenge , i really wanted Reading University to win but they were up against a strong team in Imperial College. The reason for me wanting Reading to win in this heat was due to the fact that i spent a consecutive four years of summer school weeks whilst doing Open University courses way back in the late seventies to early eighties, when i took both the Science and Mathematics Foundation Courses, a second level Pure mathematics course, and second level physics course.

Later on when i did some arts couches the summer schools were at UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology).

The best part of these summer schools was the evenings spent in the student campus bars drinking beer with like-minded people. Halcyon days indeed.
