That classic first album from Tricky ... redefined music at the time and proved Tricky to be in the master class of making music. He'd come from the School of Massive Attack and split off from the band for creative differences. He found Martina Topley-Bird as a singer and together the two of them made the most incredible music and sounds.

We were emerging from the so-called "alternative" first half of the 1990's and music had grown into the stale reproduction of power-punk-pop delivered a la the tired verse-chorus-verse method. Maxinquaye went way out on a limb, and experimented with sounds, rhythms and ideas that were new sounding and fresh. They defied structure and had all sorts of tangents and deviations. The influence and impact is still felt today.

Enjoy! Peace and love.

'Tis another lovely sunny day here in the garden of England. I have been over to Whitstable and then via Canterbury to Faversham where i am at the moment enjoying some Rogue Amber Ale (5.3 % ABV) . Now at only 99p a bottle this fine ale from the USA is slipping down the throat very nicely. So having two bottles is just near to two pints of beer. Awesome.

I then will be traveling over to Maidstone for a roast lunch and drink mystery shop. Sunday buses are few and far between , depending on what routes you take on a Sunday. However i do fancy a nice chicken roast today with a couple of beers, all paid for by one of my companies.

I have camera in hand just in case a flash of inspiration comes up.

More books found today going for a song at ten pence each except for the one by Aldous Huxley which was fifty pence. I discovered these in a charity shop in Faversham.

Lots more to read !!
