R.I.P. Keith Emerson
Mar. 12th, 2016 07:24 pmAs a tribute to this king of the keyboard a couple of classic prog rock grooves from him and and his bands.
The Nice - Hang On To A Dream
The Nice - America
Emerson Lake and Palmer - Tarkus
TArkus still remains my favourite ELP album , esp. this long 20 min title track - it conveys what prog rock was all about with complex time signatures and , based on motifs and extemporization, plus an unfolding sound and groove similar to classical music and modern jazz, makes this one album alone a highlight.
I also played this vinyl LP as well.
