Well, as it is Thursday i will going to Faversham to sell those books. also i have records to sell which i might take with me - just stuff i have not been able to sell on Discogs.
It turned out to be warmer than expected. I was in the mood for my optimism to be occluded but , whether by good fortune or happenstance, it was a fine journey to the next local town known as Faversham. I sold some records and some books for a small sum of eleven quid - nothing to shout out about, but better sold now than having to wait later.
One of the charity shops were doing a ten pence day on all books so i succumbed as usual.
Just finished watched the DVD set of Penny Dreadful Season One. What a brilliant period drama full of that Gothic horror and supernatural events that Victorians loved to read. The series draws upon many characters from 19th-century Irish and British fiction, including Dorian Gray from Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray", Mina Harker and Abraham Van Helsing from Bram Stoker's "Dracula", Victor Frankenstein and his monster from Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", and Dr. Henry Jekyll from Robert Louis Stevenson's "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde." Some great actors in it too - Billy Piper and Timothy Dalton to name but two.
Well worth picking up if you see it on DVD. I look forward to finding the next season on DVD.
