After the disaster that was Xmas Day we eventually had our Xmas lunch on Boxing Day. Turkey breast fillets, mashed potato, peas, and the traditional brussell sprout with gravy. It was washed down with a good quality red wine , which I discovered was half full before lunch. The bastard had already drunk some before I got up.
Thank goodness I hid the malt whisky from him.
Anyway we exchanged presents. He got me the Brian Cox book “Wonders Of The Universe”, a coffee table sized BBC Book. I got him a book on Kent Cricket Greats, a book on Dave Grohl (Nirvana , Foo Fighters) plus a Killers CD and a James CD – all sourced from charity shops.
Later on we had some cold meats, cheese, pickles a relish from the hamper that my brother sent us. Loved the smoked beef and the Shropshire ham. Tomorrow might try the venison.
Watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo last night on Channel Four and tonight is the second one of the Millennium trilogy, and is also the original Swedish version.
