The weather is still mercurial. Today it did not go above 19C and it was very windy with minor showers and some warm sunshine. We are supposed to have another heatwave next week, so we shall see.

I walked into town and picked up some provisions, drunk a pint of le in my local pub, and then came back home, had a jacket potato with egg and bacon on top of it.

Whilst out I did pick up this great art book from one of the charity shops for 1.50.

A Concise History of Modern Painting (World…

Unlike most of these art paperbacks, this has plenty of coloured photographs of the art.

I also completed six covert telephone call mystery shops. Quite a productive day.

Good start to the day.

I did a couple of turf accountants Saturday (mystery shops) and the horse I bet on at the Sheerness branch came second at the 16:40 race in York. It was a 28/1 outsider and because I did an each way bet I will receive something around £16, so not bad for doing a covert shop. which also paid for my original bet - which is a maximum of £3 as well as my fees for doing the visits.

However my nearest W.H betting shop is in Sittingbourne as Faversham only has Paddy Power and Coral.

Posting off two more eBay sales today.

Well, as it is Monday I will heading to Spoons today for my half-price food. This will be the last week of the government commitment to helping out pubs and restaurants with the half price offer.. unless Monday 31st is included.

We are expecting crappy rainy weather later in the afternoon and all day tomorrow. Ugh!

Back out on the road today. Visits to Ashford and then a couple of take away visits from fast food outlets in Medway.

It will be another scorcher so I will be in sport vest and shorts today.

It has been a gloriously sunny day. Also, I did my first face to face mystery shop visit over the island since the lockdown. A very straightforward visit to one of these shops where everything is a pound. I have another in Ashford to do either Thursday or Friday.

Mary gave me five hardbacks to sell on eBay - they are all unread brand new hardback books on WW2. I am not that interested. I wonder if my bro [livejournal.com profile] coming42 might be interested in some of them.

I am doing these for eight quid each including UK postage or added postage if abroad.

It is going to get warmer this week. Today in my sweet spot I sunbathed in 24 C of sunny warmth.

Two covert mystery phone calls have been done this morning. No need to go out and earned sixteen quid for the two from my mobile phone.

Might do more of them. Thanks, IPSOS.

Off to town soon to post another book off and then a sandwich shop visit here in town.

Weather is dull, overcast, mordantly breezy and nondescript and yet dry.

It looks like I will be quite busy this month around the 10th to the 20th with jobs in Kent. The ones, well two actually, I was going to do in the Brighton area has been cancelled but the same type of jobs now in Kent. Meanwhile, I have applied for some online social media and email, mystery shops that can be done at home during this fallow week until the 10th, which happens to be a payday - thank goodness.

Watched the New Year Day Doctor Who, which in my opinion, was the best of the current season. So whenever the 20i9 season begins I hope that the stories are better with less of the in-yer-face politicising.

Book-wise I might increase the challenge to 95 books or higher, undecided as yet, but I will make my choice once I have finished my first book of this year,

Hope you all have a good new year.

Finished all six visits by 3 pm today, and now just have the reports to do. I bought trainers, sweater , T shirt and socks plus beer at the supermarket.

At least it was a mild and sunny day.

The five shops at the centre meant i ended up with five bags.

Due to the weekend engineering works on our local rail network i caught a bus replacement from Teynham station at a few minutes before eight and then the standard bus route down when we arrived in Sittingbourne. I had a quick pit stop at The Opera House in Tunbridge Wells before travelling on to Brighton. Arrived midday and did my first mystery shop in Churchill Square.

Outside Churchill Square shopping centre.

The same jazz band were still playing from the last time i came down to sell some CD's in Hove.

I met up with L for a coffee break after my phone store visit. She was meeting one of her friends as she manged to get most of the bank holiday off from working except for Monday. It was

We both waited for a bus to take us along the Western Road, she to her friend and i onward to Hove to sell my bag of CD's at Fine Records. Julian took about half of them for which i got £25, and on my bus journey back to Brighton via the upper route, which was less busy, i alighted at Brighton rail station and walked down Trafalgar Street. I popped into Wax Factor and sold some more CD's for a fiver.

I was heading along the North Laines toward Across The Tracks , but it was way too busy inside with collectors and buyers and my usual buyer was not around. I ended up getting rid of the rest at Cex in Eastbourne. With the money from L and the satisfaction oif some decluttering ,it was a good day.

So onward to Eastbourne and Hastings for the two pub visits.

A couple of visits done today. One in Sittingbourne, another travel agents,  and one in Ashford. It was also the penultimate day of Wetherspoons beer festival. The Ashford shop was at the Designer Outlet south of the main town.

It was humming with shoppers looking for bargains.

I bought this nice T shirt -

Another good day of mystery shopping.

So,  after doing the scanning job in Sittingbourne i am back in the Office again. Glad i did check the ESA webs pages here as they have not listed my scanning job for this week on my home page, plus having left my mobile phone on charge at home, I had to call ESA in St Albans from here. Problem is the people who deal with the scanning job are at lunch, ad thus i have decided not to go to Sheerness for the second canning visit until the company sorts things out.

On my home page once i have done a job or filled in the report it gets submitted on-line for me to get my pay for the allocated job in the following month. Without that submission i do not get paid Hence the urgency for this to be sorted. I may pop over to Rochester to do my second Cineworld visit this month.

The other reason for me  being in the Office is that i have allocated myself nine Thomas Cook visits for next month and hence needed to pint out the questionnaires and scenarios

Also, it is a crap day , raining, and it is nice being indoors.

Yesterday I travelled to Ashford to do a visit at PC World. It turned out to be another fine warm day and to reach the place I had to visit I partly walked the route from the town centre through South Willsborough towards the retail park. That part of the sprawling suburbia has a quaint village area with a decent watering hole for the thirsty trekker.

I got some screen wipes as proof of my visit to the shop, and then, after buying a sandwich from the adjacent Boots, walked back to catch the bus to central Ashford. Had some time to kill before my return journey to Faversham, so I popped into the library for half an hour, and then sat in the park smoking my pipe and reading a book.

Now I may be volunteering for SFM Radio as I have an informal interview Monday morning. I am not certain what capacity I would fill but I did intimate to them in my spec letter that I would like to DJ the music I love, specifically jazz soul and funk. I shall keep you informed on the outcome.
