Third day in a row of doing rail surveys doe the Kent-based rail company. Although today was a disruption survey due to engineering work on the line from Sittingbourne to Sheerness. So, I travelled the bus replacement and did the survey based on the alternative service.

I had lunch in Spoons on the island. Here is the food porn, Jon – pizza!

After the job, I popped over to Rainham to peruse the bookshop there and picked up a few cheap classical CDs. I then came home avoiding my local pub.

Well, that was it, yesterday after I did my other rail covert shop I popped into the pub, met Amanda there, and we had two bottles of wine between us and then went elsewhere on a pub crawl. It was at least two other puns we imbibed in. So today was going to be an easy day.

Being in Canterbury today was cathartic. I did my visit and then checked out some charity shops. Then I popped into one of the two Spoons pubs there and had a pizza and a good few beers.

The best find of the day, box set with libretto is this one for two quid!

Oh, and it was a very big delicious pizza!

So, in the end, it was a great day.

Another sunny autumnal day here in Kent. I am having pizza as I just popped down to the local shop to get it.

Also, we now have- finally - a communal website and wi-fi running up. So , when I need to be in the community lounge, there is Wi-Fi available.

Listening to the Art Ensemble of Chicago album "Les Stances A Sophie" -music based around an obscure French movie that was reissued by Soul Jazz, but now the DVD is rare as hen's teeth. Wished I bought it when it came out in 2008 on that DVD.

Anyway, time to eat my pizza.

Apparently, it is a pizza celebration month according to Iceland, the frozen food company.

Any excuse for pizza later today.

Our local Iceland is closing down on the 14th. The nearest now will be Sittingbourne or Whitstable. Of course, they have bargains. Got three pizzas for three quid instead of five.

Had one today -

the Spicy Pepperoni Pizza

..and washed down with a fine quality Aussie Shiraz vino.

It has been a lovely vernal sunny day,
and one in which I walked down to the local shop to get a pizza and a can of cider for my lunch.
Rest of the day has been reading yesterday's newspaper and listening to the stochastic music of Iannis Xenakis

I have also printed out a Primer on his music from Wire issue 259 (September 2005).

Expect a music post soon.

Antiestablishmentarianism is one of those sesquipedalian words I love but seldom used. I thought about today after reading a couple of books today, one on the linguistic development of the human brain, and the other on the abuse of language.

This has been the modus operandi of the day. Reading texts, devouring words and analyzing the connotations in tomes that refer to how the brain works. Another paperback has been sublimated and chewed over so expect a review at some point.

Consequentially, I did not bother perambulating to the town centre and picked up food items from the local store, a One Stop. It was sunny and cool. However, the threat of snow looms over the next few days.

I took this pic yesterday as this archway to the rail tracks above delineates Grove Close leading to our little corner from Waller Road that points toward the local shop in Lower Road. The picture was taken looking through the archway to Grove Close.

I took this picture today as I was walking down Lower Road to the local shop shown below.

They do a nice pepperoni pizza for a quid.

A very windy dull and rainy day. So i decided that i would rather stay in than go to Sittingbourne.

Listening to jazz and awaiting for pizza and garlic bread to come is a far better move.

A post by [livejournal.com profile] thespian15 mentioned beer and pizza - guess what? - exactly what i am having tonight.

Mind you , i am in my local 'Spoons pub typing this enjoying a couple of cans of Sixpoint's Resin craft ale (9.1 % ABV).

I have been listening to some of my finds from yesterday. I just love to explore music that challenges me, inspiRes me, and not too comfortable to make me use it as muzak.

This afternoon was spent sunbathing and deepening my tan. I then had some pizza and garlic bread for dinner , washed down with a feisty Shiraz wine.

Then i listened to the radio, fell asleep, listened to the radio again and answering some of the questions on the new series of Counterpoint on BBC Radio 4.

This evening has gone by too quick , and as it approaches midnight, i will be looking up to see a full moon, and checking my hands, just in case. Howl!

It was a very good journey back from Brighton yesterday. I left the city at just after six and was back in the town here at ten - this was due to the fact that Arriva in their "infinite wisdom" have extended the hours the number 7 bus travels between Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone, It saved me having to take a train excursion up to Strood from there.

On the way i was texted by Phil to see if i would be in the pub ;later and i said as soon as i alighted from Sittingbourne rail station i would be there. So we met in the Golden Hope some time just after ten and had a few beers.

Today i have had a lazy day ,apart from washing some of my clothes, and finishing off one of the reports for the visits i did.

For lunch i had a classic pepperoni pizza with garlic bread and a bottle of Merlot wine to go with it.

The weather was a little warmer so i had a moment to read outside in the gardens of the Quays. I have almost finished the Julian Barnes novel, just a couple of pages to go.

I met Andy and Scott outside and was invited to his cluster for vino and a few tokes. The green stuff goes well with my normal pipe tobacco very well. Then later on when i got back to my own pad i must have fell asleep and had a late afternoon siesta.I woke up again around seven.

I then listened to the radio and some of the CD' s i bought and received in the post. Whilst in Brighton i found some great jazz CD';s in Across The Tracks going cheaply.

I was very happy to get this one as well.

Tomorrow i will be out again although i have not decided where exactly. It will include a visit to Gillingham , another supermarket covert shop, and possibly Beckenham. This will be after the free Thursday breakfast here at the Quays.
