So as far as the gig went it started quiet but picked up later with a few punters really grooving to the music. One guy wanted to know what the Tortoise track was, as he thought it was the weirdest and grooviest ting he had heard in ages.

This , apparently will be the last of my Wednesday's night sessions , as from April i will be back to a Saturday gig.I shall look forward to it.

Eamon, the event organiser, does not know how to count the last Wednesday of the month. He expected me too do my gig last Wednesday but it  was not the last Wednesday of the month. So i had to share stage with a folk troupe. Well, to be exact, they were  upstairs from about 9 pm  and i was downstairs from 8 pm playing my jazz, funk and soul grooves.

They finished their little gig before i did as it got quite busy. I finished dead on midnight.

Apart from a period when the laptop overheated and needing a reboot, a bit embarrassing , the night went well.

The gig went very well. The pace became packed out around nine. The punters really appreciated the good grooves as i got remarked by appreciative imbibers. Some ladies enjoyed my choice of classic late seventies / early eighties soul disco grooves. One of the gals hugged and kissed me for my choice, and after the gif did so again, plus one Spanish lass enjoyed the Latino choices.

Last night , apart from the celebration of three birthdays, it was a tremendous night for my cousin, Tim, whose worship of the Chelsea team, awarded him and any other Chelsea fan with a glorious win over Bayern Munich that went to penalties in the end.

I have never seen anybody so happy when they clinched the winning penalty in a nerve wrecking shoot out after a stalemate 1-1 draw in extra time.

I am glad they took away the smug arrogance of the Germans.

Barry The Train joined us for some drinks, and gave us a few drinks as well. Thanks for coming, mate.

After some initial problems getting to grips with Phil’s amp, the music flowed very well into the single speaker, and after almost forgetting to plug in the external hard drive, the auto DJ went well as we tucked into our soup. We then had the main meal, which was a bit of a struggle after s very fulsome spicy soup. Afterwards, i then went into standard DJ mode, by taking it off the autopilot.

I still prefer Virtual DJ but the MIxxx software is easy to use, and i love the auto mode, which allows you to stack up to 99 tracks.

Last night at the Hampton was the start of my residency there and it was  heaving. A packed pub full of punters up for a good night out and wanting some quality tunes.
This means that the Northern Lights will not be able to have  me unless it's a Sunday or a Thursday. Also the NL needs decent decks like these at the Hamp
