So as today is Candlemas the Xmas cards that were up on the wall have come down now. The wall there looks pretty bare and thi=us I am pondering as to what I could fill that space up with.
I do have a poster from National Geographic that would fill it up. I might do that or fill it up with my meanderings of paint.
Now that I did an abstract on the back of that paint-by-number board, my bro has sent me a pack of 12 acrylic paints yesterday and four canvasses today - all via Amazon. If he expecting any realistic portraiture then think again. I tend towards the Jackson Pollock, Braque, Barrett Newman, Yves Klein and Tracy Emin area of expressionism. There was a book that came with them which I will read, and if inspired, might take it further, but I will need an easel, detachable palettes, and a range of brushes and paint/palette knives.
Oh and if you are not sure what Candlesmas is - it is the festival held on 2 February to commemorate the purification of the Virgin Mary (after childbirth, according to Jewish law) and the presentation of Christ in the Temple. Candles were traditionally blessed at this festival and is traditionally the 40th day of and the conclusion of Christmas - hence taking any Xmas cards or decorations down.
Yes, I am an artist - a piss artist!
