I took the camera with me in Sittingbourne on the off chance i might need it. Glad i did.
Some ladies were coming down the road whilst i was waiting for a bus back home handing out leaftets in relation with a community project to do with diversity. They were dressed in very colourful African costumes.EWell i presume they were as my fashion sense is zilch.

I then took a photo of East Street looking towards the top end of the town.

This was about midday when i snapped these pics.

Date: 2014-10-04 12:55 pm (UTC)A couple of years ago a local museum had an exhibit on "the hat tradition" in the African American community. I'd never considered before that the tradition of wearing flamboyant hats, and some of the hat styles, developed from traditional African headgear.

Date: 2014-10-13 01:28 am (UTC)I suppose I need to get out more.. I'd love to catch such moments, whether wide aperture to emphasise the subject, or narrower, for more of the entire scene. Locally, there's not a lot, unfortunately.
(Mmm, Sigma 30mm f/1.4.. true, not the very sharpest lens around, especially wide open, but it's such a lot of fun to play with, regardless)
