So after all the hullabaloo, Austria, who never win anything , won tonight in the Eurovision  Song Contest with a bearded lady. Nothing unusual there. So it got me thinking that if the football team Liverpool  had grown beards they would have won the Premiership. As a rule, i don't watch this Euro trash but i can see the fun side of it. But really, it has got nothing to do with proper music, and not many acts from it had long careers from it except Abba i guess.

I was quite happy watching a film and listening to some music whilst the torture of that programme was on,  although it would have been fascinating to know what points Russia and the Ukraine would have given each other.

So as an antidote (if you should need it) to all that is this classic 1971 soul track by the Rotary Connection,a song that was redone by Nuyorican Soul on their debut 1997 LP , which is blowing me away all over again.
Black Gold Of The Sun

The band featured Minnie Ripperton , whom gad a UK hit with Loving You.

Enjoy.

Had a lie in , well it is Sunday, hence my morning music post is just a little later than usual. Today it is four tracks with the linked theme of one artist who user to be part of the early 80's group The Art Of Noise, produced by Trevor Horn - also famous for producing the two massive hits by Frankie Goes To Hollywood back in the eighties.

And as it a Sunday, these are very chilled out grooves from ambient electronica to modern classical composition. Anne Dudley straddles both genres as well as writing film scores , such as Tristan and Isolde.

First track is the beautiful "Moments In Love" by The Art Of Noise.

Next up from the Art Of Noise album The Seduction of Claude Debussy" is this track - Il Pleure -

And finally from her 1995 album Anne Dudley does this gorgeous choral and lush orchestral piece from the
Ancient & Modern CD, Canticles Of The Sun And Moon.

Also from the same album is this track, Veni Emmanuel.

Enjoy.

Florence loves to come upstairs and look out of the front window down to the street below.

Then she catches me taking a pic. Probably thinking "Oh no not again"

Well after the last day of the main football season , i then via the catch up facility watched both the latest episodes of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Tomorrow People.  I still cannot believe that Sky went with the treacherous Hydra agent in the plane and i want to know how will she get out of it, knowing now that he is a  traitor. Even TTP has turned out to better than the last few episodes, and is heading towards some resolution.

Some series i have intermittently watched and would like to catch up on are Haven, Lost Girl, and Warehouse  13.
