I received a message from an old friend [livejournal.com profile] jbd001 earlier and we may be meeting up in December. Like me, he is another hard boiled jazz nut based on the south coast. We use to DJ occasionally together, much like the patter with my Finnish mate, Mestari. Something to look forward to anyway.

I have been listening to more podcasts of the Public philosopher with Harvard philosopher Micheal Sandell. The ones i cogitated over today were "Why Vote?" recorded at the LSE in London and one recorded in Asia on "National Guilt". Very thought provoking stuff.

I then read a chapter from the Brian Magee book on philosophy, "The Great Philosophers", and in particular the chapter on Friedrich Nietzsche.

After listening to the Sufjan Stevens CD , "Seven Swans"  I have a bit of a snooze, and hey presto, wide awake now. Thus i am lustening more to the Sandell podcasts.

I had a thought about which Dr. Who i grew up with most and it was actually John Pertwee's tenure with the classic car Bessie whilst the Doctor was earthbound. This was followed by Tom Baker whom i enjoyed to a certain degree but not as much as the former.

So LJ friends whom is your favourite Dr. Who from the past or more recently?

The location i will be at next week come Tuesday is Fort Amherst in Chatham, which is an historical site. As it is a tourist centre then i might be working for the tourist bioard, and that would suit me down to the ground.

So, a place steeped in our military history. However, until that dreaded Tuesday , i do not know exactly where i will be placed until i see my placement officer.

I walked into Sittingbourne this morning despite the weather being a little inclement. Picked up a couple of CD's for a quid each -

Cream - Disraeli Gears (Polydor)
Prokofiev - Romeo & Juliet Excerpts ,Berlin Philharmonic / Claudio Abbado (Deutsche Grammafon)

Had a pint of that other beer on my list of beers to try in the Wetherspoons International Beer Fest, the Belgian Abbaye Blond (6.0 % ABV). So my list is now complete as i have tried the four beers i wanted to sample.

I have worked out that this mandatory week is well below the minimum wage , so as i said previously ,it is tantamount to slave labour.

Tomorrow i will probably do the two visits in Canterbury and Maidstone as it is gong to be a dryer day with sunshine (apparently).

I am enthralled with the return of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (on Channel 4) which i have just watched (Shadows).

Woot woot! Another TV programme to look forward to.

Beforehand , i watched the first part of the BBC documentary The Art Of Gothic, which i watched on catch-up.
