I must admit, i did not leave home till midday as i was dealing with parceling sold items up and posting them. So, i had little time to go photo snapping and just concentrate on the three visits i had. I still managed to squeeze a few in with a couple waiting for my bus back home.

So here are some -

Pics here )

It was in Burgate that i did my charity shop visit and found the complete series of Joss Whedon's Firefly on DVD for four quid.

I also found these at other local emporiums in Canterbury.

Plus the first series of the revamped Battlestar Galactica on DVD and Guillermo Del Toro's "The Orphanage", whom directed "Pan's Labyrinth". So another fantasy film to look forward to watching.

It is thirsty work sometimes , so i needed refreshment in the local Wetherspoons pub - well that is my excuse and i am sticking to it!

Reports completed. So it is time for some music, and it is solid soul music, and a little funk.

Ashford and Simpson - Solid As A Rock

Will Downing - In My Dreams

Brothers Johnson - Right On Time

Joyce Sims - Come Into My Life

An often enticing and enchanting vocalist, Joyce Sims hasn't emerged as a disco diva with crossover appeal despite making some excellent singles. Born in Rochester, Sims formally studied music in college, learning a number of instruments. An agent introduced her to Ron Resnick of Sleeping Bag Records, who signed her in 1986. Her biggest hit was "Come Into My Life" in 1987, her only Top Ten record. But, both "(You Are) My All and All" and her remake of "Love Makes A Woman" with Jimmy Castor were finely crafted and nicely performed releases. They made the R&B Top 30, but didn't earn her enough attention to break out beyond the dance market.

And then some more soul and funky disco -

S.O.S Band - Just be Good To Me

Kid Creole And The Coconuts - Stool Pigeon

Average White Band - Person To Person

Rickie Lee Jones - Weasel And The White Boys Cool

Gloria Estafan and The Miami \Sound Machine - Rhythm Is Gonna Get You

Enjoy.
