Has anyone else had a problem trying to post comments to blogs. The reason i asked this is that my brother sent me a text to my mobile to say that was unable to comment. Yet i have has plenty this morning.

So if you can post to this entry then all is fine and it is something at my brothers end.

So i ended up at Bluewater again. Had a couple pf mystery shops to do. Morning weather was fine, warm and sunny nut by the late afternoon it had turned decidedly chilly and windy. Apart, from that, not much to report really.
I will be doing a post on musical scores from the movies, and then finish my two reports for the day.

Film scores tend to be ignored but the do play an important role in a movie. Many classical composers of the 20th century and this century have been wonderful film score writers, and it is an art that has been ignored for far too long. Not all of these composers are classical composers , as lalo Schifrin certainly is not, but these are my most influential ones on me.

So here are some of mu=y favourite film scores -

Arthur Bliss - The Shane Of Things To Come (1936)

Proving that he can write top notch film scores as well as classical compositions.

Bernard Hermann - North By Northwest (1959)

Lalo Scifrin - Bullitt (A Soundtrack Suite) (1968)

Next up, a classical composer-

William Walton -  Richard III (Prelude) (1955)

And finally in this selection -

Gato Barbieri - Last Tango In Paris Suite (1972)

Such a cool soundtrack too.

Of course, not forgetting wonderful scores by Ennio Morricone, John Barry, Eric Korngold, and many more. May have to a second selection sometime.

I wondered how Russia and Qatar got to host the World Cup, and it seems that they did buy votes to win. The shenanigans continue at FIFA which,in my opinion, is unfit for purpose!

Just watched episode 4 of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. It is getting quite dark now that war has been declared between the two magicians.

Terrific adaptation of the novel!
