Books Found Today
Jun. 6th, 2017 03:54 pmIt is now sunny at last and i am my local pub just having had their succulent Aberdeen Angus steak. I found some books for a pound or less in local charity shops. Another mixed bag of reads.
Reuben's Writing Challenge - A Ficlet

lindahoyland and Reuben's Writing Challenge from May 21st - yeah a bit late with this lol! The challenge was to include these words -

Thoughts on a Holiday
A month after the Jenkins crisis, and now that the dust settled down from the aftermath of Billy's Triad instigated outrage and final demise, Piper decides that she and Leo should have another vacation.
They deserve a holiday after all she thought.
Suddenly her thoughts are disturbed with Henry and Paige orbing in. Piper detects a wry smile on Paige's face.
"Why are you smiling?" asks Piper.
"Oh me and Henry are going on a trip"
"Yes",pipes in Henry,"I managed to get some overdue time off"
"Yes," Paige enthuses,"white sands, warm sunbeams, and general lazing about."
"Ha, well sis, have you just become a mind reader?" quips Piper.
"No, i am no psychic,ask Phoebe!"
"It's funny, i was thinking that me and Leo should have a holiday without the kids". Piper waits for a retort.
"I see what you are up to missy.." Paige exclaims,"you want me to babysit."
Piper squirms a bit, a wan smile streaks across her face.
"Er honey," Paige asks Henry, ".. i need to have a private chat with my elder sister."
"Okay hon".
Piper and Paige retire to the conservatory. Paige grabs Piper by her arm with a distinct decisiveness.
"Okay..i know you want a break, but so do i , especially Henry.He deserves it more with some of his recalcitrant paroles,Could you get dad to look after them".
Piper,slightly taken aback,feebly interjects,"I will buy you some roses"
"More like Jimmy Choos or a Prada bag i think"
Then a flash of inspiration comes over Paige.
"You know we could make it a foursome?"
Piper's mood perks up, "I hadn't thought about that"
She muses further.
"Okay,i shall ask dad and if we could summon our mum to help out as well then its on.Just don't tell phoebe about it."
"Cool,then we can orb anyway we like" interjects Paige.
They return to the main lounge where Henry has sat down reading a newspaper.
"Everything's ok?" he asks Paige.
"it is now hon".
The grandfather clock strikes twelve.
"Well time has flown.." ,rues,"Piper we got to go.I have a new charge to look after, another future whitelighter, and she does not knowit yet".
"Okay, we shall discuss where to go next time, quips Piper.
"Bye" both of them say as they orb out of the Manor.
