Finished watching the last episode of the six-part mini-series Hawkeye. I loved it. In fact, all these miniseries have been wonderful, such as Loki and Wanda and Vision.

I would love to see a new series of Agent Carter. I suppose it will not happen now, alas.

Yep, I just watched the new version of Suicide Squad or basically their second mission. It has Harley Quinn back in it. A new threat. Oh and the guy who did Dr.Who and The Thick Of it as an evil scientist. Lots of violence and blood as well. Great fun.

Well, another fine sunny day and a little cooler of late reaching 27C. I was glad that we had some breeze as well.

I popped into town to do another Ziffit and then drop off some books to Kate at Past Sentence to which I received six pounds.

I ended up at my local pub and had a couple of beers, my favourite Jaipur IPA.
I then walked home the long way round via the stream that leads from the duck pond heading towards Oare. Along this walk, I went past Chart Mills that is just off Stonebridge Way that leads into Lower Road.

Chart Mills is better known as Gunpowder Mills and is the oldest of its kind in the world. Following the Mills' closure in the 1930s, it fell into disrepair and was almost lost until The Faversham Society rescued the Mills, restored and opened it to the public in April 1969.

The path that follows the stream towards Chart Mills.

Chart Mills - today though it was closed.

One day I will have to investigate it further.

So, I watched the final episode of Season 7 of The Flash tonight. However, there will be a Season 8. YAY!!
jazzy_dave: (Default)
Well, the forecast was for a rainy day and just a crappy day. However, after some early rain in the morning, the rest of the day remained dry, if mostly dull and overcast. Good to know that the forecast from Thursday onwards is mostly sunshine all the way. Also, Thursday is now my new day for doing some visits around south London. That is, Beckenham, Welling, and some train rides.

Yesterday I did my other stint in the common room. The classical and all kinds of music mix, but nobody came and I finished playing my CD's before six, and then I pondered that it might be more fruitful to do this in the winter months. Sunday was quite a sunny day despite not reaching above 19C.

I did watch overnight the complete MCU Infinity War and Endgame - once again - and then watched Spiderman Far From Home again, as the latter deals with the fallout from Thanos's click - taking out fifty percent of all life - and the Avengers blip. It is the blip that is relevant in the stories of the recent MCU TV shows, The Winter Soldier And The Falcon, and WandaVision, and to a lesser extent, Loki. One deals with the problem of having half the world population back and the consequences of rehabituation, and the other deals with the fact of losing a loved one (Vision) due to being snubbed out by Thanos, and hence creating a world where that loved one still exists as a television show, unable to face the fact of his demise.

Some shows I dom look forward to both TV and film we are The Eternals, and the Hawekey spin-off, and hopefully not too long, for the Guardians of The Galaxy 3!

WW1984

Yes, I have watched the latest Wonder Woman movie WW1984 streamed via Onionplay.
Gal Gadot makes a very impressive and a strong beautiful Diana Prince.
Well, without giving away anything, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If you loved her last WW film you will love this one as well.

Well, today is one of dullness and showers. At least we need the rain. I can watch more superhero movies and Tv shows that are currently airing or have aired. Using OnionPlay I have finally watched the Crisis on Infinite Earths Arrowverse crossover episode in the Batwoman series. Now that I can actually watch Batwoman I might try other episodes.
For my guilty pleasure I am watching the DC Comics Stargirl series. Thus is also on OnionPlay as well as Agents of SHIELD.

Stargirl takes up the mantle of her dad, Starman, who was part of the JSA that included The Flash or a pre-Crisis multiple universe version of him.

I see that our ITV 2 has taken up the new version of Roswell called Roswell,New Mexico. Not watched it as I feel that remakes are not as good as originals. See the shit they have done with Charmed for example. So my verdict as yet is undecided.

One really fun show was DC's Doom Patrol on the Amazon Starz site. I enjoyed watching that first season as much as the first season of Watchmen.

OnionPlay also had the Spider-Man Far From Home movie, plus Shazam! and the latest Harley Quinn movie. All good fun and not as serious as some of the others by Marvel or DC. Watched all of them as well as I missed these at the cinema before lockdown. In fact I can say that OnionPlay is much better than Shush.se.

I will post some trailers for the geeks who have not seen these shows.

Yes, this DC Comics-based series is back for its third and final season. It is darker and more disturbing than before. Freeland is in lockdown, Markovian forces are on the attack to nab or kill all metas. The ASA, who infected the negro community with Green Light has declared martial law on the city. Midseason, Black Lightning finds himself on a parallel Earth helping The Flash, Superman, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow etc in Crisis on Multiple Earths. But now with just one Earth, he joins the freedom forces to take back the city - with the help of his daughters, Thunder (aka Blackbird)  and Jennifer.

As usual, the soundtrack is so funky, soulful, jazzy and cool. I binged watched 8 of the 16 episodes yesterday on Netflix.

Titans

I have been binge-watching DC's Titans season 3 on Netflix. I just love the series but the death of Wonder Girl at the end was a bit sad, but being part of those Amazonians (like Diana Prince) will be revived by her people and be back for the next season.

The afternoon improved. We even had some sunshine. Thus I popped over to the island to do a supermarket cafe visit. Had a jacket potato filled with Chilli con Carne for my late lunch. This was just after three in the afternoon.

Afterwards, I caught the two buses back home and arrived in the warmth of the close at around 5.30 pm. I listened to a Schubert CD for a while before having a siesta - for four hours!

So now it is two hours of the last two parts of Crisis on Infinite Earths, and yes, it was a long break from the last episodes in December.
Tata for now.

I am just about to watch Supergirl and then I realised I have a problem. Of the five episodes of Crisis, I will only be able to watch four of them. The reason - there is no company in Europe or UK who have picked up the rights to Batwoman - not even Sky - and thus the second part of Crisis I will not be able to watch! BOO fucking HOO!!!
jazzy_dave: (Default)
One film I missed at the cinema was the Justice League movie. I just watched it on Prime. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman stars in it. Also includes Ben Affleck as Batman, and we also have Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg all trying to defeat Steppenwolf. It was a good film. not a brilliant one, but excellent movie bliss.

Started watching this new series on Netflix. So far ,dark, violent and excellent. Stars a much darker Robin (after leaving his mentor Batman) ,Kory Anders  aka Starfire (a powerful woman from the planet Tamaran), Rachel Roth aka Raven (daughter of a demon) and Garfield Logan aka Beast Boy (a shapeshifter that can turn into an animal).  These are the Titans who are being hunted by the creepy Nuclear Family and others. I have watched the first three episodes.

Timeless

After a couple of sunny days, today was chilly dull and overcast. I popped into town to post another CD off from my sales, and get some provisions. I did not waste time looking around but focused on my tasks and get home quickly back into the warmth.

On Netflix, I have been watching episodes of a series called Timeless which I finished last night. So far they have only made two seasons but according to Wiki, there is a third season two episode finale which is not on Netflix as yet.

Also, from tomorrow there is a new DC Comics series on Netflix called Titans. Trailer looks interesting.

Season 2 of Black Lightning is back on Netflix. I have just watched the second episode and I am loving it. I also dig the excellent music in the background. Some cool avant-garde jazz was in the background in this episode.

I wonder when Supergirl will come back or for that matter The Flash?

Last night i watched this movie at the Carlton in Westgate On Sea. This second film is even more funnier than the first. The cultrual refernces and the general irreverance to the comic book genre and the film process itself was just one part of this humourous, sometimes profound ,volent and slightly gorey, addition to the Marvel universe. It never takesit seriously. There was even a slap agianst DC Comics too! Without going in to details this is a fun film that, if you havve or haven't seen the first one -a lthough it does helpto have seen the first,i recommend this film without hesitation.

Yes i did see Infinity War - brillaint but also very dark and that ending - phew! Well i am not going to spoilit for you if you not seen it but meanwhile here is the chronology of the MCU up to Infinity War.
