It has been a quiet nondescript day. It has been quite windy and we had some rain. We are expecting another storm tonight but not as fierce as the last one.

Tomorrow Phil will pick me up at 9 in the morning and we'll be heading towards Brighton for the funeral at midday.

Midday today I had the usual Sunday and booze session in the common room with Dawn. We had a great laugh together.

Anyway, I am off to bed soon because I feel tired and need to get up early tomorrow.

Another windy day. Sunny but windy.
Oh well, it is dry, so I am not goin’ to cry.
Had my usual Sunday music session in the lounge or common room
Some jazz and electronica.
Dawn came as usual. With her vodka and coke.
And we had a few smokes.
Dissed other people and blokes.
So, after a good hour or so
We went our separate ways
And for the rest it just laze.

The day passed by very quickly for some reason. I suppose it was because I was soring out some paperwork in the morning, having a chat with Dawn, the new gal from 33, and then popping into town and meeting other new friends. I was in town to pick up a copy of Wire, and passed by Kate's shop and decided to chat with her for a while. I then picked up some food items from the market before heading towards my local pub.

It was at the pub I met a new friend, Mandy, who lives in Painters Forstall. Now it is a small world because as we got chatting she knew my relatives in the village where she lives. Specifically, these will be the Rayners, and she knew their son and daughter, Simon and Elizabeth. Both siblings are involved in classical music and orchestras as members of the orchestra. I am not certain which ones, but I knew that sometimes the Rayners use to come to Teynham to see our mutual grandmother.

When I was a child or youngster I had a bit of a crush on Elizabeth. I think my bro would testify to that lol!!

Painters Forstall is just a few miles from Faversham. It is between the A2 and the road leading to Ashford. I believe there is a bus that goes that way - the 660 if I am correct.

So after three beers, I decide to go home wondering where Simon and Elizabeth are now?

Well, a bit of a relaxed uneventful day. That is how I like it sometimes. Just let the world pass by, listen to some good music, read a bit and chill out.
There is no bus service round here on Sundays anyway.
I did go for a nice walk as it was sunny if cool, but warmer than of late.

Watched the second episode of Dr.Who and a couple of science documentaries.

Tomorrow I will be enjoying the food prepared by Anna, our Asian lady who lives above me, who is giving us a feast tomorrow in the common room. I will be taking pictures of course.

Quite a dull uninspring day so far. I walked down to the local Spa shop and found that even they have bare shelves due to the haulage driver problems. I spoke to Raj - the shop owner - and he said that he keeps ordering stuff but still getting much less of the supplies he normally has.

Oh well, I picked up a few snacks and some cans of cider for binge watching shows. I discovered this creepy one called Midnight Mass - just seven episodes long - but I feel it will just get bloodier and creepier as it goes along. It has something to do with vampirism as well all know being Buffy fans that a vampire suffers no ills and has great strength and a keen sense of smell. These so-called miracles of the town are nothing to do with religion. That was the awkward part for me is the so-called "I am right you are wrong" attitude of the Catholic faith. I can do without much of the religioso and hence just here for the gore!

However, shows that seem to get better for me are definitely Doom Patrol and Foundation.

Oh, had an email from my mate Gareth from Rugby thanking me for the book I sent him about radio. He still is very much a tech newbie and does not email enough but I sent him my link to LJ , so hopefully he may join.

..and Sunday sunbathing.

Yes, it was a glorious warm sunny day. A day I did little except for sunbathing. Well, that and a slow walk into town and back. I made the most of the blue skies and very little or no clouds in the sky. It looks like tomorrow will be even warmer.

However, I will be picking up another CD tower to house my CDs which I found in a charity shop going for a mere five pounds.
Then I will pop over to Ramsgate after bringing the tower back home to do a covert shop.

Lunch was cottage pie with veg and mashed potatoes followed by a very tasty sticky toffee pudding.

Past Sentence was open as well, so I sold a few tatty paperbacks for two quid there.

It was another satisfying day here in sunny Kent.

We had quite a bit of rain today. It is now dry but it looks like we will have a few more days of it. Still, I guess we do need some rain.

I have been watching more Dr. Who episodes and spinoffs.
So, basically, it is a day that requires relaxation and reverie.
Slouching, indeed.

A strange day weatherwise. Started cool and miserable, and now it is brighter, still cloudy, with slight peeks of the sun. Certainly not as warm as yesterday. Also, the threat of rain later on.

Made a spicy egg and onion omelet for lunch. I wanted something lighter today and had plenty of eggs, so that is what I concocted.

Enjoying a very delicious caramel chocolate stout from Vocation Brewery (6.6 % ABV).

It is going down a treat!

Listening to the Mike Westbrook big band CD "Metropolis" from 1971 - reissued by BGO in 1999 on CD. Awesome Brit jazz!

Will follow with some Beethoven late String Quartets and some of Mozart's Violin Concertos.

Saturday was dull and dreary and today we had a brighter day with a little sunshine. It is also much cooler again and hence my hay fever has gone for a while.

Today I binge-watched an animation series called Invincible. It was very good, as at first, I thought I was not going to enjoy it but as it went out the series improved. This was on Amazon Prime and I recommend it. It is around eight episodes I think as I did not count them just let the auto "next episode" do its work.

Tomorrow will be the longest day, and yet with the weather as it is, that summery feel is far away at the moment.

Well, as I mentioned yesterday today was filled with listening to music purchased from Saturday. Very much into the album by Steve Coleman. Excellent jazz from his Five Elements.
The biggest surprise soundwise is the prog-rock albums by Cressida, with their only two albums back to back on the BGO CD, The CD is also worth £24 and I picked it up for a pound!

The weather has been sunny but extremely blustery all day and just not the type of weather for sunbathing. At least it is now much warmer than of late. and perhaps we can finally see the warmer weather arrive - hopefully.

Lunch was a very tasty beef roast dinner. Washed down with a lager and cider mix known as a snakebite.

The nights are certainly drawing in now. The day was yet another sunny warm afternoon in which I did three hour of sunbathing.

Lunch was a beef madras curry with pilau rice. Also, a couple of cold ciders went down well.

Finished reading another book, which I will add to the reviews later.

So far ..

Another slow burning day.
The day is overcast yet muggy.
I am biding my time till my next pay day.
Lunch was five bean chilli with chopped sausage and Mexican rice, gringos.

I feel sleepy so might have a siesta.

A sunny warm day but tempered by fairly strong winds.

Lunch was beef madras curry with veg rice. Followed by sticky toffee pudding. I know -  an indulgence - but what the heck.

Relaxing and reading is the order of the day after hoovering and dusting.

It has been another sunny sunbathing day. Did not do much. Chatted with neighbours who were sunbathing, read the newspaper, listened to some radio and imbibed a few beers. In other words, a quiescent recharge of any spent energy.

Tomorrow will be different. I have an email mystery shop to do and then on Thursday a trip to the island to do a shop visit. It will be a different normal to the one before but alt least it will not be weeks staring at four walls.

Later on I shall watch my DVD of The Epic Of Everest which includes a score from Simon Fisher Turner. See my previous post on the subject of SFT.

Did not wake till 9.30 this morning. Had another overnight binge watch. Up to Spooks season nine now.

First thing I did was to have my shower and then go online at FB to wish my sister-in-law a happy birthday. She is 68 today and married to the axeman and his guitars [livejournal.com profile] coming42. I suppose it is strange having birthdays during this lockdown.

This morning is much brighter than yesterday and hence could well be warmer by the afternoon. I guess I will out in the sun when it feels warm enough to do so. For now I am catching up with some reading.

After a few busy days today, I am relaxing, and popping into town to do get postings done and get some food.

I have four visits left on the charity shop jobs. These I will do tomorrow and thus will get up early to get to the locations, which are Sandwich, Cheriton end of Folkestone, Kings Hill and Chatham. I will also pop into Canterbury as well as two of the locations are eastbound whilst the other two is westbound.

So, it is a pity it is not a sunny day but overcast - at least it is mild.

Another relaxing Sunday almost over, alas. Been listening to music most of the day. Started with Yo La Tengo, then Sibelius and more Sibelius, then some Bark Psychosis, Prince, Mike Westbrook and some compilation CDs from the Wire, and back to Sibelius.

I spoke to another Dabe who resides at number 14 here in Waterstone Place. He use to be a musician and so enjoyed the Prince I was playing in the common room.

Read the local newspaper and the Guardian and had pepperoni pizza for lunch.

So I am now reading this book below until the next episode of His Dark Materials.

It has been a day or relaxing and listening to music. Some reading as well. Plus two DVD's watched. The DVD's are Absolutely Fabulous The Movie and Demolition Man. Just love Joanna Lumley as Patsy. I laughed with that first movie.

This was a trailer for the movie-

In Town

I walked into town to pop to the main post office to despatch my survey from Saturday when I did the exit poll. The majority of my work is online and thus no need to post work off, except for the occasions, like this weekend, when I did an exit survey for a research company.

Whilst in town I will look around the charity shops, but I do not expect to find anything that will grab me.

Meanwhile, I am in Spoons having a pint of Abbot Ale - only £1.99 on Mondays.
